ARGENTINE TANGO – Beginner Open-Embrace – All “Slow” counts (initiate with Weight Changes before moving into steps to establish partnership): Forward Ochos (“Figure 8s”) Leaders begin leading Lady to Walks & Cross; as the Lady “crosses” Man collects R ft to L but does NOT change weight – leads Lady to “turn L-ward”; R ft side leading Lady into Fwd Ocho; L ft side leading Lady into Fwd Ocho; R ft side leading Lady into Fwd Ocho; L ft side leading Lady into Fwd Ocho then squaring lady up to face Man as he changes weight (Lady does not). Repeat this pattern to the R side with your L ft and again, two more times. The Man will lead you to a R-ward Fwd Ocho on your L ft and “square” you up to him (without rotation into a Fwd Ocho). Then he will begin a new step (your R ft will be available).
Beginner Open-Embrace ARGENTINE TANGO – To encourage more creativity in your Argentine Tango and improve your leading & following skills, students were encouraged to make the “Cross” action step (in the Walks to Cross) dancing S-S-Q-Q.
